ReMuse:KIT – Legacy Support
Note: ReMuse:KIT has entered ‘Sunset Mode’. Public sales of the software have been closed as we transition to a new architecture. This page remains available to support existing users.
This will stop any more security prompts for ReMuse:KIT:
The warning prompt will reappear when you open the app – this time, you’ll be able to click on ‘Open’.
The app will now be saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it, just as you can any authorised app.
As ReMuse:KIT is now in maintenance mode, we are no longer implementing new features such as automatic machine switching. However, if you need to switch the machine that your serial number is activated on, please reached out to us at info@remuse.online and we will happily move the license for you manually.
ReMuse:KIT has a built-in pre-processing step that can remove other instruments than drums from your audio. This can be toggled on or off based on requirement.
At present ReMuse:KIT only extracts audio for drum kit elements.
We now recommend Local Processing for all users.
We at ReMuse recommend 100% wet – completely processed files. Having the files completely separated gives you much more flexibility in your mix as you can blend the bleed back in to taste in your DAW anyway. No audio information is lost during processing, it is merely separated into other files which can be imported into any project if required.
So we recommend trying fully wet processing for the majority of cases until your find something that suits your tastes to say otherwise.
Check the output directory destination in the settings menu – this should be where the files have been saved. This is not necessarily the same location you imported files from.
ReMuse:KIT is a separation tool that uses a machine learning model trained on hundreds of hours of drum recordings in order to recognise individual kit elements from their characteristic responses. It creates new audio files for each desired drum element that can then be mixed independently. You do not lose any audio information like you might from gating or EQing – all of the sounds recorded are preserved completely. This is a cutting edge, no compromise way to separate drum stems for premium audio quality and maximum flexibility. It also operates as a standalone software that you run before you begin your mix, and therefore doesn’t use your computer’s resources during a mix session like typical plugins.
Typical ‘Smart Gate’ plugins combine a standard full band gate with EQ filters that activate more quickly in order to cut problematic frequencies that might occur with mic spill – inevitably, this causes information to be lost that your mix might benefit from. ‘Smart Gates’ are fantastic tools in their own right, and here at ReMuse we use them alongside ReMuse:KIT – but they do not offer the same level of flexibility, or access to the full audio information of the kit element you actually want in your mix.
